About the Author
Fran�ois L�vy, AIA, AIAA,is a registered Texas architect and researcher. Mr. L�vy has been practicing architecture since 1993, and established his own firm in 1997. His architectural projects have attracted regional and national press, including Dwell magazine and HGTV. In addition to leading CAD and BIM seminars to professionals, his areas of research interest are sustainable architecture, cooling through passive ventilation, and space architecture.

BIM & Sustainable Workflow Detailed

This book has been very well written and presented in a way that Architects both novice and experienced can appreciate and learn a great deal from. Having been a BIM centric Architect for nearly ten years I found this book engaging and causing me to think about my own workflow procedures and how I approach design and project development. The way the book is presented is well thought out with many detailed examples and case studies that allow the practitioner to follow and integrate into their own work. The author presents the topic in a non-vendor centric basis so that it does not become a presentation of what one software offers over the other but stating what certain software can be used and how.

The book made me think about things that I had not considered before as well as issues that I had not thought about since architecture school. I would highly recommend this book to any architect or designer that wants to better understand how in integrate the BIM process and sustainable design as it pertains to developing sustainable projects.

One of my all-time favorite BIM books

Fran�ois L�vy’s book, BIM in Small-Scale Sustainable Design, is one of my favorite BIM books primarily because the writing is so clear. Open it on any page and you will quickly see that the thought that went into writing the book is penetrating and exacting. For most of my career I have concentrated on larger projects, but I didn't let that fact get in the way of my enjoying and benefitting from this excellent book and the lessons herein. Don't let the fact that the book concentrates on smaller projects, or that L�vy uses Vectorworks, dissuade you from reading it for professional gain or even for pure reading pleasure. The book is that good! Having written a BIM book myself, and written a BIM blog for many years, I have a real appreciation for how hard it is to cut through the clutter and hype and say something that is meaningful and insightful. L�vy manages to do this on every page – sometimes several times a page – and it is a shame more people haven’t read his book and sang its praises.

Understand and apply sustainable design concepts

I admit it – I did not buy this book, but I should. I checked it out from a university library, which should give you an idea that it is held in high esteem. But do not think that this is a lofty book on an esoteric subject written to confuse. Instead, it is exactly what the title implies, a description of “BIM in small-scale sustainable design.” L�vy presents the topic clearly, but then goes beyond that. With well-drawn diagrams and informative text, he initially covers the concepts (and yes, there are a few equations) relating to site analysis, massing, passive heating and cooling, daylighting, and other concerns. Then he explains how to study those issues with digital tools and essentially teaches the reader how to explore design options and their implications.

This is more useful than a book about BIM, about software tools, about green design. It is a book written for designers to create better, sustainable buildings.

About the Author

In 2010, Chase Amante unlocked what was for him the "last level" in dating: absolute abundance. He'd learned how to meet women anywhere and take them to bed. And now he knew how to meet dream-girl caliber girlfriend-quality girls anywhere, and get them too. He was now, at last, living a life of unfettered abundance with women.

A decade earlier, he'd walked along a crowded boardwalk in Wildwood, Maryland, convinced that whatever it took to succeed with women, he did not have it.

Chase did not get serious about fixing his social problems until not long before his 22nd birthday. Alone and out of ideas, he decided to try something different. He'd learned sales, writing, and basketball through methodical practice, he reasoned. Why couldn't he learn how to talk to girls this way, too? With that, he launched a new life mission: talk to girls to get better at talking to girls.

A year in, Chase discovered a community of men doing the same thing as him, and immediately signed up for coaching in New York City. His key mentor was Sebastian Drake, founder of the "natural game" branch of seduction. Under Sebastian's tutelage, Chase's results ascended. Soon he was sleeping with women he met in nightclubs, on trains, at parties, and on the streets of Washington, DC. And he began to take beautiful, charismatic girlfriends, to boot.

Within a few years, Chase had become one of the most prominent posters on the pickup artist community's mASF forum... Rated the #7 most valuable poster out of some 100,000 forum members, including nearly all of pickup's greatest names. He began to get requests for training from other students. And many suggested he start a blog.

In 2008, in San Diego, California, he launched GirlsChase.com, and the rest is history.

It just works!

This was a great read full of actionable techniques that just work. There's two that I really want to point out because I know it will help a lot of you reading this.

#1 - Getting girls texting again

I used to run into this issue a lot. Would meet a great girl and then we would text for a few days, then silence. I never really had a way of getting them to start texting me again until this book. Chase outlines a simple system for getting them to text back fast.

#2 - The check-in text for setting up dates

There would be those weeks where I hadn't met anyone new and just wanted someone to spend to time with. I used to feel really awkward texting girls I stopped talking to months ago, so I just didn't. In the book, Chase gives you a easy "check-in text" that let's you set up dates with girls you haven't spoken to in months, even years.

This was a great read and worth every penny. I've been using it for a week now and it just flat our works!

I immediately got results after residing this book

The information in this book is the kind that'll change any man's life once he applies these principles. I'm far from a novice and I frequently visit the author's for hidden gems. This book is definitely going to get your foot in the door when it comes to texting women. I love the way it reminds us of how much of an art texting women is and that the same rules that apply in person when you're talking doesn't apply through texting. Thank you for this Chase!
As you begin to read through the chapters it's almost as if something starts to click in your head. As if puzzles are falling into their proper place and you're beginning to see the big picture. The picture as to why you'd have amazing conversations in person and when you got her phone number it was as if she was another person or the magic had sizzled away. This book literally breaks down everything you were doing wrong and tells you the proper way to text.

It Works - And Above All, That's What's Most Important

As someone who has read, gone through, and used dating material from dozens of sources, Chase has some of the best... not because I enjoy reading it or even because it makes me feel more confident in my conversations with women (although it does).

No, I like his material because it actually works. It covers many situations and teaches you how to do an excellent job of conversing with to get what you want while also having integrity as a man.

This was an OK read. I can’t say I loved the story,It had all the right elements; the plot was there, just the story itself left a lot to be desired for me. Dominic was kind of an A-hole. The way he treated Anna was just wrong. He would just leave her, talk down to her and put her out and run to Victoria at the drop of a hat all while claiming he wanted to be with her?that was so messed up. Victoria was no better, always crying and saying how she didn’t want to interfere with his relationship but that is just what she did. For example she did not always have to be a round his family. She could have said no, not going to dinner with your family, take your girlfriend. I just didn’t understand why they just couldn’t say they loved each other or that they wanted to be together. If they had, a lot of things could have been avoided. It took the whole book for them to finally say how they felt about each other. The one thing I did love was the secondary characters. Dominic family was so funny, I would laugh out loud! I wanted to love this book, I have read book similar in story line but this one, I can’t say I loved.

This was a really good book and I would have given 5 stars but, it had a lot, a lot of typos and it took away from the reading. It had a good plot, good story, great characters but, the typos. I had to reread a lot to get the meaning from misplaced words or the wrong spelling of words. Could have been a great read.

Great Story - I loved it!

This author is not new to me and although I have her Defined and Delusional Love 2 book series, I have yet to read them. So I decided I would read this book now.

The story is about Dominic and Victoria and their journey to love. Their story was complicated and messy in places but the way the author navigates you through all the twists, turns and sets backs in the relationship was exquisite!

Reading this story for me was like eating one of my favourite meals or drinking some very smooth coffee with cream that gives you that wonderful feeling of enjoyment when you have a great meal. I thought the story flowed and it had me totally engrossed. I could not stop reading until I had finished the book.

The story has humour, betrayal, deception, friendship, love, murder, hatred. There are barriers and hurdles presented to the couple that they have to work through in order to achieve their happy ending.

What I appreciated about the story the most was that even with all the drama, confusion, complexities of what was going in their relationship, Dominic even when he was angry with Victoria, was always loving, thoughtful, protective of Victoria. He would not have anyone say a bad word about Victoria not even family members. Even with all their issues they remained caring about each other. I loved that so much about how the author told this story, to me that is true love.

The only villain in the story for me was Anna! Lord I wanted to give her the beat down of her life. However, she gets hers!
There were a couple of editing issues but this did not prevent me from thoroughly enjoying the story!

This to me, was a beautiful, tender love story which I enjoyed reading every single word of! I had that satisfied feeling after reading this love story. Loved it!

I cannot wait for Monica and Marco's story. I would highly recommend this story.

This book was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I are expecting a baby in October and this book has helped us get our dogs ready. I have tried a number of things with dogs in terms of training with no success. Our dogs responded well to this instruction and are continuing to improve. The book itself is a very easy read. 119 pages took me about 2 hours to read and I consider myself a very slow reader. The instructions are simple and avoid complicating things. Pretty good book with detailed chapters for any problem that can occur. But absolutely useless if your dog is ok in general: obeys, doesn't destroy anything, isn't aggressive or/and food/toy protective.

I Almost Cried For Poor Cloud!

Wonderful story about Cloud who needs a friend. We follow poor little Cloud as he tries to find a friend. He doesn't understand that his tears become rain on everyone. I love the ending, so sweet and charming.
Bravo for this first book by Grandma and granddaughter. Hope to see many more!! What a wonderful way for them to share time together!

An eleven year old wrote this delightful children's book. This is a delightful story with wonderful illustrations. I'd recommend it. A great book for a bedtime story, uplifting and fun. I hope to see more from this new, young author.

The PC used to allow control of electronic hardware by interfacing through its I/O ports and operating system that allowed deterministic real-time control. Nice Step up from Spin, great for program interfacing

This is not a book of hundreds of propeller projects, but is the one and ONLY book that bridges between the amazing power of Parallax's multicore propeller platform, your PC, and higher languages, with a LOT of detail. If you're getting into propeller, by all means download all the many free guides, sheets, etc. from Parallax's website (they are an extremely customer friendly group and believers in open source on the code side), and buy their own official book on propeller too (see below). BUT-- after getting the spin book too, your next step will be wondering how to actually PROGRAM the propeller, not in its "native" assembly like language (SPIN), but a compiled language like BASIC. THIS is that book.

If you know Parallax, you know their many other projects, robotics, processors, etc. are already all BASIC ready. So why an assembly level language for this chip? Precisely because MULTIPROCESSOR programming is fraught with potholes, like race conditions and other nasties. BUT if you're in the real world, even as a hobbyist, you've got to be itching to try a real life multiprocessor, and ONLY Parallax offers this wonderful chip for inventors and do it yourself engineers at a reasonable price, and even with their own development board if you'd like more than just the chip (the Parallax P8X32A quickstart multicore development board, part number 40000RT-- Parallax 32111 PROPELLER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT BOARD ).

What does "interfacing" mean in the title? You'll love this part-- in addition to specifics on propeller, the book has deep and detailed tips on connecting ANY processor, using propeller as an example, to your PC-- including controlling drives, ports, etc. Of course to do so, and actually use the connections, you need a GUI on the chip side, which the book also steps you through, with example code. Have an old PC sitting around? Time to dust off the mother board and ROCK. This combination will allow you to use the propeller like the PC's processors -- only WITH access to all the features and connections. Add a netduino with it's own MAC address, and you're an instant grey hat.

Well written, lots of tips and tricks, lots of code, and the few projects we tried were error free. RobotBASIC is not a tough language, and is a great place to start if you're transitioning from assembly (in this case SPIN) to an interpreted/ compiled high level language. If you combine the propeller with even a simple 555IC (available for $5 here on Amazon-- NE555P Timer IC), it is amazing what you can do with the help of this book and:

There are LOTS of other books on the propeller (keyword parallax propeller) on Amazon, many very good, but the above will give you a great start, and the present volume the "next step" in transitioning to basic-like programming. And, where else can you practice with EIGHT processors?!

Technical example: You've got a resting robot that encounters a power dip on an alarm circuit, and needs to reset the rest state or even an ongoing line following process with a recharge priority. In single process circuits or even arrays, most of us know how to use interrupt commands, even at the assembly level.

In multiprocessing, interrupts are a whole different animal, and in some cases can't even be used without a cascade involving memory allocation, heat and other unexpected issues. At some point, every designer or hobbyist is going to have to get into higher level code to even access and sim the i/o of these advanced, ram-sharing distributed multiprocessors! This IS the chance.

True compelling writhing

Presentation of technical content has never been more masterful. Compelling, insightful ideas and concepts developed in good order and leaving one with a sense of fullness and completeness. Left me feeling empowered to reach goals I never knew existed before. The small library of good Books I have read on the chosen Micro-Controller, it's programming and learning demonstrations exercises are a necessary precursor to this book and can be found in the on line library at[...]. They are the nuts and bolts of the matter, while this book propels you into a new frontier of exciting possibilities.
