Well, that might be somewhere in Scotland, or it might not… No-one knows really, but there’s no way to get there except by magical means, so you’re not going to stumble across it on your travels. You’ll also not find it in the first book of the series, for Mhonarr only makes its appearance in the second book, Zak Turner – Wizard Summer.

I picked this book up on a whim. I am glad I have. it is an engaging book that kept me what will happen next. not all the mysteries have been solved. I wonder what is going to happen next. so I am pleased to find out the second book is already out and that is what I am going to start now.

This was a pretty good book. It has a Harry potter feel to it. It has a really good story and the characters are really interesting. Can't wait to read book two. I would recommend this book.

Great series, just a step down from the Harry Potter series, but still five stars. I'm in my fifties, yet still this kept me entertained and wanting more. Sure, there are some similarities to HP, but plenty of differences. Kids will LOVE them!

Despite this cross-disciplinary approach, however, the chapters are all linked by the overarching aim of enhancing knowledge of nuclear security and the prevention of nuclear terrorism. The volume aims to do this by investigating the different types of nuclear terrorism, and subsequently discussing the potential means to prevent these malicious acts. In addition, there is a discussion of the nuclear security regime, in general, and an important examination of both its strengths and weaknesses. In summary, the book aims to extend the societal and political debate about the threat of nuclear terrorism.

Really good book for price!

I got this book set about 3-4 months ago. I've been trying to play the guitar for over a year now. I don't want to play for lessons yet but I know I'm going to have to soon to make sure I go to the next level. Until then though, these are some pretty good books. I'm about finished with the first CD/book and trying to go onto the next. It starts off slow and gets you up to speed quickly. The first book is entirely in normal music notation, and it teaches you how to read it and slowly adds an additional string until you're playing all 6 strings but just the top 4 frets after which is switches to fret/music and chord sheet music. I bought some song books before but they were more for people who knew what they were doing...not for me...at least not yet. I also tried a PC program where you plug your guitar into it and play with the PC and it grades you. That went ok but it just haves you play random riffs over and over and it doesn't teach you the reason why you're playing what you are nor was it any fun since I wasn't really playing any song, even it was a simple song.

This book seems to teach you a little more than that but I'll still end up getting lessons at some point to have someone show me one on one some different styles and how I can progress further. These 3 books/cds should give me a really good head start though. Highly recommended for the $20 it costs.

This book is a guideline. It's not a "teach yourself guitar" book. It deals with guitar method and techniques. Which is exactly what you need to learn, it's the building blocks of guitar. This book is the perfect companion for any lesson book or easy guitar song book, I highly recommend it to anyone jumping into guitar. Excellent format, excellent book quality, & excellent audio.

In 2004, Kimberly & James Dean sat down at their kitchen table to work on a children's book together. Their dream finally became a reality with the release of Pete the Cat and His Magic Sunglasses. Both left corporate jobs in the late nineties (James was an electrical engineer, Kimberly worked in the press office of the governor of Georgia) to pursue their passion for art, and they have experienced a life made up of strange and wonderful coincidences ever since. Pete the Cat has brought magic into their lives. They work in side-by-side studios in Savannah, sharing their home with five cats and Emma the pug.

No song, half the 'book' is taken up with a poster, stickers, and cards.

My thoughts on this Pete the Cat Easter book: Don't buy it. Half of the book is taken up by a fold-out poster, 1 sticker sheets, and 3 tear-away sheets of Easter cards. If you really WANT a poster and 1 sticker sheet and cards, maybe it's worth the price for you. The story itself? Short and anti-climatic. Pete wakes up to a note from the Easter Bunny asking for help. Pete dresses up like a bunny, finds eggs, paints eggs, hides eggs, then the Easter Bunny shows up and says, "Good job." The End.

The book doesn't have the rhythm and flow that other Pete books have had. The author -almost- had something going with this line: "A cat with ears like a bunny - now that's funny!" This line was repeated once 2 pages later "A cat dressed up like a bunny - now that's funny!" The book could have continued with this theme, showing all the funny things Pete was doing while he played Easter Bunny, and the kids could shout "NOW THAT'S FUNNY!"

But no. This almost-brilliant idea petered out really quickly.

What's missing? Eric Litwin's songs. A good storyteller can make almost any book engaging for kids, but it's certainly helpful when authors and illustrators like James Dean and Eric Litwin combine forces unleash their creative genius on the world. Pete the Cat was an overnight success with the combination of simple and fun stories that involved children in the telling of the stories, whimsical illustrations, and best of all: Eric Litwin's songs. Singing the first few Pete books and acting out some of the motions really made children come alive, and made story time something magical that they looked forward to.

With that said, I've been disappointed with the Pete the Cat books that Eric Litwin has not worked on. No song? The singing is what made Pete so spectacular! It was a gimmick that really worked.

I understand the lack of song in Pete's early reader books, and those early readers are chosen by parents and kids because they have a recognizable character, just like any other early reader with a favorite character. However, none of the newer picture books have companion songs. It's clear that Eric Litwin is done with his Pete the Cat song-writing. The illustrations are still cute, but the stories have become lackluster without memorable prose. There's hundreds of other picture books out there with great illustrations that have more engaging stories. It feels now that James Dean (and more recently his wife Kimberly) are just capitalizing on the character of Pete, with less thought about writing a story that really grabs the attention and imaginations of kids.

My own girls are 7 and almost 9. Even though they have both advanced in their reading level beyond picture books, we still often come back to our favorite picture books when we sit down to read together. They both still choose Pete on a regular basis, but they choose one of the 4 titles that have a companion song: I Love My White Shoes, Rocking in My School Shoes, Four Groovy Buttons and Pete the Cat Saves Christmas.

Our other Pete books sit collecting dust. Time to donate them to the library.

Not Pete's Best

My 3-year-old loves Pete the Cat books and is pretty much obsessed with the White Shoes book and Pete's Wheels on the Bus. We also have the Pete Saves Christmas for holiday bedtime. I figured the Easter book would be right along the same lines as the Christmas one. Not so much. The Christmas one rhymes decently and has a little song (though cheesy) that runs through it. It also has the all-important VW bus that hipster Pete drives.

This book doesn't have much of the groovy stuff of the other books and is somewhat blah. I hate to say that I expected more from a children's book about a spazzy-looking cat, but I kind of did. So, does it get the bedtime job done? Sure. Does it do it with rock 'n roll style? Nope.

We love Pete!

We Love Pete the cat! We first read Pete when my son was in kinder. He is now in 2nd grade and we still love Pete! My daughter as also grown to love Pete just as much.
This is great for any family. This book is great for upcoming Easter and throughout the year. Such a joy to read! Pete never fails to make my kids smile! Pete is always the go to book for our family! Thanks Pete!

About the Author
Dhruv Grewal, PhD (Virginia Tech), is the Toyota Chair in Commerce and Electronic Business and a professor of marketing at Babson College. His research and teaching interests focus on marketing foundations, marketing research, retailing, pricing, and value-based strategies. He was awarded the 2005 Lifetime Achievement in Behavioral Pricing Award by Fordham University. He is a “Distinguished Fellow” of the Academy of Marketing Science. He has also coauthored Marketing Research (2004, 2007). Professor Grewal has published over 70 articles in journals such as Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Retailing, and Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. He currently serves on numerous editorial review boards, including Journal of Retailing, Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science, Journal of Interactive Marketing, and Journal of Public Policy & Marketing. He served as co-editor of Journal of Retailing from 2001–2007. Professor Grewal has won many awards for his teaching including, 2005 Sherwin-Williams Distinguished Teaching Award, SMA; 2003 AMA Award for Innovative Excellence in Marketing Education; 1999 AMS Great Teachers in Marketing Award; Executive MBA Teaching Excellence Award (1998); School of Business Teaching Excellence Awards (1993, 1999); and Virginia Tech Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Teaching (1989). He co-chaired: 1993 AMS Conference, 1998 Winter AMA Conference, a 1998 Marketing Science Institute Conference, 2001 AMA doctoral consortium, and 2006 Summer AMA Conference. Professor Grewal has taught executive seminars and courses and/or worked on research projects with numerous firms, such as IRI, TJX, Radio Shack, Monsanto, McKinsey, Motorola, and numerous law firms. He has taught seminars in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.

Michael Levy, PhD, is the Charles Clarke Reynolds Professor of Marketing and Director of the Retail Supply Chain Institute at Babson College. He received his PhD in business administration from The Ohio State University and his undergraduate and MS degrees in business administration from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He taught at Southern Methodist University before joining the faculty as professor and chair of the marketing department at the University of Miami. Professor Levy has developed a strong stream of research in retailing, business logistics, financial retailing strategy, pricing, and sales management. Prior to his academic career, he worked for several retailers and a housewares distributor in Colorado. Description is WRONG

Had to take this course for completion of my degree. Ordered from amazon because the "code" for the online coursework is supposed to be included and it ended up being several hundred less than purchasing from my university. Ended up having to have amazon send me 3 different books and in the end none of them came with a code. Lucky for me, the teacher was able to give me online access without the code. Ended up paying way more for just the book than I should have had to. Will be contacting Amazon to have their product description updated.

Rented this book for the spring semester, to use in my college Principles of Marketing class. I was surprised when I opened the box, as i was expecting a used book, however, this book came new even with plastic wrap. This and the other books rented were delivered as estimated.

Advertisements Anyone?

Besides the marketing concepts being thoroughly explained, this book is completely full of advertisements. No, I do not care what cold stone creamery does or Paradigm speakers. There were no good examples, just stupid name dropping. You would figure if these companies are charging $200 a book they wouldn't need to advertise sponsors in such a pointless way. I want to learn about marketing, not about how "CarMax promises a no-haggle pricing structure". (Chapter 14)
